It’s December once again. Cue the Christmas Carols, holiday lights, and general holiday happiness. Now, cue Berlin.
It’s nearly that time of year again. When Americans pit themselves against neighbors, friends, and family in the greatest internal rivalry since the American Civil War–the Super Bowl.
But despite this battle mentality, our country unites for this grand game. While over 100 million people around the U.S. will tune in from their homes and neighborhood sports bars for the annual American tradition, more than 100,000 people will gather in the greater New York area to partake in the Super Bowl festivities or to attend the game itself–or both.
In the travel industry, this means lots of occupied hotel rooms, as well as prices that are almost four times more expensive than the going average. And many of these rooms were booked by advanced planners who made reservations an entire year ago. But, not everyone who bought early will be using those hotel rooms for themselves. Whether you booked your hotel reservation with the intention of selling it or you just can’t make it to the Super Bowl like you planned to, Roomer is here to help. Here’s how it works.
Not all currencies are created equally–so if you’re aching to go on an exciting vacation without maxing out your credit card, take advantage of exchange rates when traveling abroad. By choosing a destination wisely, you can get a lot more vacation per dollar (or peso or baht or rupee… etc.).
So then, which destinations will be the best for your wallet?
Julie is no Roomer user, so how’d she make it to our Facebook page?
Julie, a fifth grade teacher in Tennessee, is engaging her students through a simple, yet powerful, experiment. On November 18, she posted a dated picture of herself holding a sign that asked her Facebook friends like the photo, hoping to demonstrate to her students how quickly an image can proliferate (and be convincingly edited) via the World Wide Web. And boy, did she prove her point. Julie’s picture has 391,000 Facebook likes and counting, and over 30,000 shares (not to mention, many doctored versions of her photo). We at Roomer are proud to help Julie teach her students this invaluable life lesson.
